The McCunn Research Lab

Currently, the thermal decomposition of pyrolysis is being studied in the McCunn lab. Pyrolysis experiments have been conducted at various temperatures and differing matrix mixtures (1:250-1:7000 sample:argon). Propanal has followed a very similar reaction pathway to other aldehydes such as acetaldehyde and butyraldehyde. Only a few final experiments are needed and, hopefully, a paper will be published soon with the results.
